BookThinkers Newsletter #1

This Week at BookThinkers

Every week, we spend a lot of time talking with authors about their ideas, their books, and what they’ve learned along the way. Below are a few conversations and recommendations we think you'll will enjoy this week.

LIVE from the Cabot Theater!

Last week, I joined Elissa Kalver, author of We Got This, at the Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA. I was honored that she asked me to open the event and introduce her as she shared her story about living with stage four metastatic breast cancer.

Instagram Highlight

Our most popular Instagram post last week was about a lesson I learned from Robert Greene, author of The 48 Laws of Power.

He taught me that the people that preach the loudest about virtue are usually the most power-hungry.

It’s what really goes on in the world of business, politics, or wherever the real game is played behind the mask, not out in the public.

Podcast Flashback!

In this conversation, Brian Tracy shares insights from decades of studying productivity, psychology, and personal development, along with lessons from his book Eat That Frog! for Students. (Kindle Unlimited members can read it for free).

It’s a practical, focused discussion on overcoming procrastination and building habits that actually stick.

What's Nick Reading This Week?

This week, I am RE-reading Steven Pressfield's bestselling book, The War of Art.

I've already read this book at least three times, but I always take away something new.

Parting thoughts for the upcoming week:

One of the things I’ve learned from nearly 300 conversations with authors is that progress rarely comes from doing everything at once. It comes from choosing one book, one idea, or one conversation and giving it your full attention.

If something in this week’s lineup resonates with you, start there. Read it. Listen closely. Let it do its work.

We’ll be here when you’re ready for the next one.

See you next week!
